Pastor Mike Knapp
My name is Mike Knapp, I am the pastor at Clark’s Valley Zion Evangelical Congregational Church. I want you to know that you are welcome at Clark’s Valley Zion (CVZ). Your past or your present life does not matter to me, my concern is about your future and your eternity. I am just an ordinary guy that God called into pastoral ministry. I am married to the love of my life Ruth, and at the writing of this article in 2022 we have been married for 43 years. We have two married sons with four tremendous grandchildren (please allow for some grandparent bias).
I have a background of 30 years in various stages of residential construction. I was self-employed for 17 of those years as a remodeling contractor. I bargained with God for many years before yielding to His calling on my life to become a pastor. It took me 13 years to obtain the undergraduate credits necessary and then to earn a seminary degree, all while working full time. I have spent three times as many years in the pew compared to behind the pulpit, so I think I can relate to living life outside of the confines of a church building. I am sharing my background because I want you to know that I may not fit your stereotypical image or persona of a pastor but I love the Lord and am striving to be obedient to His call on my life.
So, you are welcome to join with us as we worship or just contact me if you want to talk. I would love to hear your story and share with you the God who transformed my life.
