Bend-A-Knee Weekly Sermon 07/11/2024

How many of you use some type of corrective lenses to help your eyesight, either glasses, contacts, reading “cheaters,” maybe you even had cataract surgery? For those who wear glasses it is obvious to others that you need assistance to see clearly. For those who wear contacts it is not as easy to detect that they are wearing corrective lenses, perhaps that is the reason they wear contacts…? The reality is, without some type of corrective lenses you have difficulty seeing clearly; in my case I cannot function without my glasses. Corrective lenses allow people to see things that they would not be able to see otherwise.

Imagine if God allowed mankind to see the spirit world by putting on some type of supernatural lenses. This realm where the factions of good and evil are entangled in an endless battle over mankind. Because we cannot see the battle arena around us, we deny the reality of this continual warfare. Many followers of Christ are easy targets for the ploy of Satan’s emissaries, demons, due to their refusal to accept that there is spiritual warfare happening all the time, even as you read this Bend-A-Knee. Perhaps thoughts were placed in your mind to discourage you from even taking the time to read this posting. Satan and his demons are real, alive and well and doing everything within their power to attack everyone, believers and unbelievers. They are cunning and employ tactics that are so sly that it is easy to fall prey to their leading. They speak lies and deception into the hearts and minds of everyone. For the unbelievers they continually work to keep the light of God from entering into their sin darkened souls and for believers they sow seeds that if cultivated can disrupt one’s walk with Christ and serve as a cancer cell of division within the body of Christ, the church.

For Satan and his demons their kryptonite is the sincere prayer of God’s prayer warriors. Prayer does not eliminate the threat but it serves as an avenue into the presence of God’s Throne Room of Grace. Today as you consider pausing at noon to Bend-A-Knee in prayer may you take advantage of this powerful antidote to the constant barrage of Satan’s forces. The view of beacons of light radiating from believers’ prayers would be a wonderful sight if we were allowed to view the demons tremble in the name of Jesus. We may not be given the chance to view this supernatural realm but acknowledging its reality is the first step into the combat arena.

Stay connected to God & to others

God’s Peace,

Pastor Mike
